LIVE Stream from Springs Valley Sept 4th!

Our 2010 Fall Season officially kicks off this Saturday at the Springs Valley Festival of Bands, and we’ll be bringing the show to you LIVE from Springs Valley Jr/Sr. High School in French Lick.

This year, our new Fan Pass subscribers will be able to experience the show in Full Screen (one of many benefits) for all Live Stream events. The Springs Valley show will feature 6 outstanding groups to kick off the season, including Heritage Hills, Paoli, Orleans, Crawford County, Northeast Dubois, and Springs Valley.

The Live Stream, as always, is brought to you for FREE on IM.com. So please be sure to stop by and check it out if you are not attending the show that evening. Coverage begins at 7:00 PM EST!

We’ve compiled a list of contest dates and locations and have now officially published our list. Click Here to view the complete list (you must be logged in). Now is the time you can begin submitting your lineups to us for posting. We’ll work as quickly as possible to keep this area up-to-date with all of the latest information.

Scott McCormick Resigns from MFA, Inc.

L. Scott McCormick, CEO and President of Music For All, Inc. (also known as Bands of America), has resigned his position as well as his board member seat. Here is the official words from Mr. McCormick’s Facebook late last night:

“To my friends and colleagues, it is with guarded feelings that I share with you effective yesterday, I have resigned my position as Pres. & CEO, and board member, of Music for All effective immediately. For those of you who know me well, this has been very far from an easy decision. I wish the organization, that I built, along with a very capable and talented group of associates through the years, all the best.

And to all of you who have made me who I am today, I say thank you and look forward to our paths crossing very soon. I wish the young people and teachers who I have had the honor and privilege to serve over the years, the very best and hope you will stay in touch. Warmest regards, Scott.”

Eric Martin has been appointed the new President and CEO of Music For All, Inc. as of late afternoon on August 22, 2010.

We’d like to welcome everyone back to IndianaMarching.com! We’re excited to be entering our 12th season of marching band coverage for the state of Indiana, but once again, we’re in need of your help. The official 2010 Band and Contest Information Submission pages have been placed online (see the menus above). We’re asking you to please submit any information you have about your band or contest for this upcoming season as we work to compile a complete database of Indiana bands for the 2010 season.

Avon Captures National Championship; Carmel, LC, and Center Grove all in Top 9!

Congratulations to the Avon Marching Black and Gold for capturing their 2nd consecutive Bands of America Grand National Championship! Avon becomes the second band in Indiana history to capture the Eagle more than once (Lawrence Central 2001, 2004) and the first band in the nation since 1991 to repeat as Grand National Champions in back to back years. Their show was entitled “Comm-UNIFORM-ity,” as they wrapped up their undefeated season.

Carmel placed 5th with a very strong showing of their show “”Virtue-OSITY”, while Lawrence Central was 8th with “To Begin Again”, and Center Grove 9th with “Music Box Macabre.” Congratulations to all of these outstanding bands on an outstanding finish to end 2009!!!
